IDES: YEAR IV

Happy Ides of March!

Of course, in true XV fashion, this is our New Year to look back at our past and see what the future holds. Since the Fall of 2022, we’ve been working on playing with new colors, textures, cosmic and sensual themes, and design techniques in our paint explorations. Our abstract paintings breathe fresh life into our XV Gallery with a color palette of electrifying greens, hot neon pinks, lush purples, various hues of blue, and burnt and saturated oranges. We’ve been working on painting techniques that can visually give movement in our Ides collection drop with some breathtaking, vividly colored and painted graphics to our XV Gallery!

  • Pandora’s Supernova is an explosion of passion. A liquid burst as if it was the finale of a Color Run, but hit with vivid and rich pinks.
  • Electric Papaya is one of the vibrant pieces in this collection drop showing layers upon layers of neon pinks complemented with shades of orange and a hint of seafoam in the background.
  • Frank Meets Lisa is inspired by the cult favorite brand, Lisa Frank. An abstract sensual concept that gives an erotic play to when Frank met Lisa.
  • Cactus Orale is inspired by an unfocused or macro view of a cactus with light glares.
  • Electric Camo is an homage to a camouflaged print with dayglow-inspired greens, yellows, and blues. The electrified version gives a new life to being less hidden, but a presence made known.
  • Orale + Electric Orale is a sensual abstracted view of oral fixation.
  • Electric Cacti, Mariposas Vivas + Electric Mariposas Vivas are inspired by motifs from Disney’s Encanto.
  • Monstera Supernova + Electric Monstera Supernova is a cosmic explosion with foundational monstera leaves actually embedded between the canvas and paint in the original canvas painting. The outlines are seen in an abstracted view.
  • Cosmic Orgasm Royale + Cosmic Orgasm En Fuego is a cosmic sensual explosion.
  • Tigre Uncut is a macro view of an uncut phallus.
  • Vesuvius Sensual was literally a last-minute addition to this collective. An abstracted perspective looking at the frenulum of a climaxed phallus.
  • Poseidon’s Tempest is inspired by the chaos of the sea and ocean. The impromptu movements of unsettled waters.
  • Electric Cosmic Palm plays with color bursts of palm fronds.
  • Metallic Borealis depicts drips of metallic palettes representative of an aurora borealis-type nature.
  • Green Papaya en Rapture depicts an abstracted and deconstructed green papaya left broken in a vulnerable manner.
  • Mi Tierra (I + II) is a diptych inspired by the aerial view of the Earth focusing on rich and vibrant color palettes.

XV is also excited and proud to be showcasing an art collective at Tradition Brewing Co. in Newport News, VA as the March artist spotlight. These original art pieces will be given exposure to the public till the end of the month! So if you’re in the area, stop over to the phenomenal Tradition Brewing Company and grab a bevvy and take a one-on-one look at some of XV’s original painted works!
