XV Bisous + XVkids

With May’s overall theme of growth, this is a perfect time to acknowledge some items. May is also known to be Mental Health Awareness Month. This is something that I’ve struggled with the past few months, maybe even the past few years.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness XVITALDESIGNS is introducing our XV BISOUS Collection. So how does this all connect? Well,  body language is something that we tend to notice. Sometimes it’s apparent and at times it could be subtle, but either way, it could signal a psychological reasoning. Our facial expressions are dynamic and can express a mix of so many emotions that are relayed amongst one another.

If you’ve been keeping tabs on the XV journey, you may have noticed that there was a teaser in the XV Signature Icons of the XV BISOUS graphic. This design depicts a lip biting it’s lower lip. Psychologically, it can suggest that lip movements can emote a myriad of reasons, from tension to arousal. However, in this case, the biting of the lips in our XV BISOUS graphic is significant of fear or anxiety. The action of biting the lips could bring about notions of insecurities and worry, or being in an uncomfortable situation.

I also have been intrigued by the types of artwork that depict disorders in drawings. I find them fascinating and really I do believe that the artist portrays each disorder perfectly. When developing the background design, I wanted to have almost a web-inspired design that captures the inner workings of the mind.

Explore our XV Bisous collection and find that inner connection.

Personally, I have struggled with anxiety and mild depression for a few years back—although not official, I’ve learned to push myself and direct my efforts into projects. Although this may not be the case for others, I understand the difficulty. Especially, nowadays, with everyone being hit by the pandemic in so many ways, many individuals are experiencing high levels of anxiety.

I’ll be completely honest, not until recently over the past two years is when I have realized that mental health and self-care is a thing. It may be blown up in several ways through social media, but it is something that we should all take note of. With all of us undergoing almost two months of quarantine and social distancing, this could be an opportunity to be a little selfish to yourself. Now, I get it, it is definitely okay not to feel okay. Everyone does certain things in their own way—this is fine. Merely a positive suggestion.

On a slightly lighter note, in keeping with May’s theme of growth, XVITALDESIGNS has also launched its kid’s collection at the beginning of this month. XVkids is a sub-brand dedicated to the young children with the same XV inner discovery mentality.
